The Charity Awards 2010

Broadway was awarded Highly Commended in the Charity Awards 2010, the UK charity sector’s most prestigious award scheme. The Charity Award judges recognised Broadway for Real Lettings.

The annual Charity Awards ceremony, sponsored by the Charities Aid Foundation, The Leadership Trust and The Times, is the most high-profile event in the charity calendar.  Since launching over ten years ago, the awards have honoured hundreds of charities, large and small, from across the UK, acknowledging their outstanding work and achievements and the tireless commitment of the people behind them.  The charities are each shortlisted for specific initiatives which have improved the delivery of their charitable objectives and which demonstrate outstanding examples of best practice from which other charities can learn.

Daniel Phelan, organiser of the Charity Awards 2010 commented on the initial shortlisting: "The Charity Awards recognise and reward the fantastic work that takes place within the voluntary sector right across the UK and beyond. It’s so important that we acknowledge the achievements of voluntary organisations because it applauds the people who are least likely to expect any recognition but most likely deserve it.

Over the years, many wonderful charities, large and small, have been recognised by the Charity Awards, highlighting the major and selfless contribution they make to society and the huge effort and commitment that goes into making them work.  By being short-listed, Broadway Homelessness and Support has already demonstrated that it is amongst the best-managed charities in the UK."

Investors in People Gold Award

Broadway Homelessness and Support achieved the prestigious Investors in People award in 2010, the most successful framework for business improvement through people in the UK.

Achieving Gold, Silver or Bronze Investors in People recognition is a tremendous accomplishment, with these organisations representing the top 3% of recognised organisations. Broadway are the first homeless charity in London to receive this level of recognition and one of only two charities in London to have been awarded Gold.

Ian Faulkner, Broadway's Life Patron and former Chair of Trustees commented: "Being the first homeless charity to achieve Gold is a tremendous achievement for Broadway. The award is a real testament to the quality and commitment of our staff and serves as true recognition for our ongoing commitment to providing quality services to our clients."

Sunday Times Top 100 and Best Companies 2-Star Award

Broadway was included in the Sunday Times Best Small Companies To Work For the last two years. This achievement was based on the results of Broadway’s Staff Survey, which addressed areas such as diversity, work life balance, development, communication and management.

Broadway was also awarded 2-stars in the Best Companies Accreditation in 2010 and 2011, one of only 140 companies to receive this commendation nationally. Companies are awarded the 2-star status if they are recognised as ‘outstanding’ and we are therefore extremely pleased that our work has been acknowledged in this way.
